Warm Bodies

Thursday, 21st February 2013

Warm Bodies

Warm Bodies is my favorite film. It is a comedy, romance and a slight horror. It is the best film since Twilight. I love it! The director makes you have pure emotions for "R" the Zombie. I have read the book and watched the film. If you are looking for a more upsetting ending go for the book. The book has much more detail and scenes. It describes more about the terrible Boneys, Julie and R. In my opinion the film has a much more romantic ending. I kept on watching the ending over and over again. It is such a passionate film you just want to see it over and over again.

Dr Sporty Lip Balm Review

Saturday,16th February 2013

Dr Sporty Lip Balm

Miss Sporty is a brand I used to reach for in my early teens, due to

cheaper pricing.

However not so much now. But I was drawn to Dr Balm by the super cute retro packaging!

There are 3 different shades in total. I chose 02 - Glam Kiss and 03 Gossip Kiss.

There is also 01- Sweet Kiss, which I will most probably pick up next time I'm shopping.
These balms claim to heal and moisturise your lips while providing a faint hint of colour.
They certainly live up to these claims. Although its doesn't apply as thickly as some
lip balms such as Vaseline and Nivea, these do provide a light, non-sticky, glossy,

moisturising coat to the lips. Now Dr Balm is a tinted lip balm that comes in up to five colours. Now all five are available in my local Superdrug however only two are available in my local Boots.                                                                                            Now I love these products they give me a natural look
in a range of colours they range from a light baby pink to a dark reddy plum colour.

The Way I Blog

The way I blog

The way I blog.  I search online for the best blogs about health and beauty. When I find a blog that is good I edit it and add it to Miss Crissie. Miss Crissie then tells you where I got the blog from. All the things I have blogged about so far I own. I am not very good at writing but brilliant when it comes to skin care. If someone sends me an email about puberty, health and beauty... I will search online and find them the best blog.

I have quite an interesting life. For instance I have not slept in for 6 whole weeks because I go to school weekdays and on saturdays I have netball trainings. Today I had no training so I went to bed late on Friday so that I could sleep in. I woke up this morning to a sound so annoying I stormed down the stairs. I opened the door to the kitchen and that was when I saw him. The builder was in. He was drilling through the walls! Not only that but it was 7 am in the morning.  I was furious out of all the day it had to be today. My mum and brother were still asleep. I decided to have some pancakes I put them in the Toaster. My mum came down whilst I was waiting for my pancakes to cook.

I turned on the telly and just as i was about to eat my pancake the builder asked for my help! ugh! Has he not done enough harm by waking me up but now he asks for my help! I watched him as he climbed into a hole that lead underneath our floor. He then asked me to pass him a stinky, muddy pipe. I heard a noise in the living room it was the builder! He was underneath the floorboards! He asked me to run into the kitchen and hand him a pipe as I did I ran so fast I slipt and fell on my side. Oh and how it hurt I just missed hitting my head on the floor by stopping it with my shoulder which is currently still swollen. My thigh was full of bruises. This is the moral of the story: never let a builder in the house at 7am in the morning.

Daytime Cat Eye

Daytime Cat Eyeliner

CHOOSE YOUR LINER
You're not going to be very successful if you try to scrawl across your lids with a dried up eyeliner pencil -- you need something that will easily glide over your lashline. That's why the most obvious cat eye liner is a liquid formula, but it's also the trickiest kind of liner to use.

FIGURE OUT YOUR SHAPE

You want to follow the natural curve of your eyes, so the best way to determine the right cat eye shape is to start drawing. But, "if you have downturned eyes you'll have to fake it a little," Bailey explains. Instead of following the curve of the top lid, imagine how the bottom lid would extend upwards and draw that line.

START LINING

Stapleton suggests starting with the brush [or pencil] resting on your lashes in the inner corner of the eye. Gently drag it across, letting the line become slightly thicker as you go, until you get to the end of your lashes. Then stop.
"Then, start the tail in the opposite direction, with the tip of the brush facing your temple, and draw until you connect the two lines," he says. Either leave the cat eye thin and pointy or thicken it up by adding more layers of liner to the shape.

MAKE IT EVEN

If you work with your eyes open looking straight into the mirror, you'll easily be able to make the cat eye even on both sides from the get-go, says Stapleton. Remember, it's always easier to add more liner than take it off. If you make a mistake, use a Q-tip dipped in makeup remover to get rid of any stray marks or feathering.

EXAGGERATE IT WITH LASHES

Now that your liner is set, turn your attention to your lashes. While a few coats of black mascara will do the trick, Bailey suggests using a full strip of false lashes to enhance the wing even more. Apply them along your lashline from the inside out, but separate them from your real lashes at the outer corners. "This turns the eyes up even more," he says. And the trick is surprisingly subtle. The space (of about a millimeter) will be invisible because it's filled with liner, and when you apply mascara the lashes will all blend together.

KEEP YOUR MAKEUP SUBTLE

The old rule of thumb that you should play up one feature is especially true when it comes to the cat eye. The eyes are the focus, and everything else should be natural. Use your favorite blush and lip gloss but apply lightly, and if you feel naked without color on your lids, Stapleton suggests a nude shadow like MAC Cosmetics Eye Shadow in Blanc Type, $15. Bailey suggests leaving your lower lashline completely bare.

TAKE IT FROM DAY TO NIGHT

Now that you understand the basics of a daytime cat eye, it would be remiss for us not to tell you how to transform it into a sexy, night makeup look -- especially since it's so simple. "When you go out, just extend the line and maker it thicker," says Bailey. "It goes from day to night just by pumping it up." We also like to add liner underneath -- especially in the waterline -- and layer some black, shimmery shadow on top of everything for even more impact.

Retro Waves

Saturday, 15th February 2013

Lana Del Rey Retro Waves

Products used:
  •  Its a 10 Miracle Spray
  •  Hot Tools Professional Curling Iron with Multi-Heat Control  You can use a 1-2 inch barrel depending  on the size curls you want. I used a 1 ¼ inch barrel on my model)
  •  Kenra Volume Spray)
  • Kenra Thermal Styling Spray Scunci
  • No Damage Elastics

Before I do any hairstyle that I blow-dry or use any thermal tool on, I use a heat protectant. For Mariel’s hair I used the Its A 10 Miracle Spray and sprayed it through all of her hair. But any good heat protectant will work nicely.

Next I parted her hair into six sections. This makes it easier to work through hair, and Mariel’s hair is pretty thick so this made it a lot easier and quicker.

Next I took a section from the bottom of Mariel’s hair out and sprayed it with the Kenra Styling Thermal Spray.  You can use a styling spray as well, but I used this mainly to have more hold in her thick curls. If you have thin hair your may want to stick with using a styling spray.

Next I grabbed a about a fourth of the section of                hair that I had pulled out (vertically). I wrapped the hair (starting at Mariel’s roots) around the outside of the curling iron, starting from the handle or clamp downward.

To keep a hold on her waves I sprayed her hair lightly with hairspray.

For more hold on your waves you can lightly spray over your hair one more If you want them to be looser you can run your fingers through your waves or use a wide toothed comb to separate them.

And there you have it, a perfect and timeless look that’s easy to recreate. It’s the easiest way to add this breathtaking and enduring look to your wardrobe. It’s perfect to wear out, going to a party or pairing up with your favorite pair of jeans. Try this look on for yourself and see what you think.I am are sure you will love it just as much as I do!
